We are a small, family orientated hobby breeder in Iowa. We have 4 to 5 litters a year. We started breeding Dachshunds about six years ago because of our love of the breed and have had Dachshunds for twenty-seven years.

We specialize in longhair Dachshunds but do have short hair possibilities. We have various colors and patterns, including:

It is unfortunate that we can not keep all of them because we grow attached and love each and every one of them!

Our Commitment to Health

Our litters are planned with the goal of bettering the breed, with health, longevity and working hard to improve conformation and temperament, being a priority.

All of our adults are health tested to ensure all litters are healthy and have the best start at a long healthy life. Our adults have their yearly vet exams, receive their yearly vaccinations including monthly heartworm prevention.

Our puppies receive all age appropriate vet check exams, vaccinations, wormings.

We worm our babies at 2,4,6, and 8 weeks of age.
At four weeks they are moved out of our bedroom and whelping crate to a puppy play area, where they can play & explore and start acclimating to people, other dogs and household noises.
We start potty training using potty pads at four weeks
They have their first set of vaccines, and are vet checked at seven to eight weeks of age.

From the start, Joey was there to answer all our questions as first time Dachshund owners. Once the litter was born, Joey was in constant communication with us to update us on our pup’s development. She willingly opens her home for families to visit the pups ahead of time. While some breeders house their dogs in separate facilities, Joey’s dogs are part of the family. The care and attention she gives to all her dogs is evident. If my husband would agree, I would have five more of Joey’s quirky, devoted little pups! But I wouldn’t trade our Henley or Hazel for the world.

There is a 72-hour health guarantee and a sales agreement that protects the buyer, the breeder & the puppy
Prices are quoted a pet only on a spay/neuter contract unless otherwise discussed, and prices vary depending on color & pattern
All puppies must be eight weeks of age before leaving for their new homes.
We are happy to face time & have home visits and all of our new parents have lifetime support from us
We don’t knowingly deal with pet stores, puppy brokers or puppy mills.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of veterinary care do the puppies receive?

Puppies are given wormers at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks. They receive their first vaccinations at six weeks and a vet check at Osceola Veterinarian Clinic between seven and eight weeks of age, right before going to new homes.

Where do the puppies live while in your home?

Puppies are whelped in our bedroom beside our bed. I do not leave them until every puppy has been delivered safely. They are whelped in an 80 degree room with a heat pad to keep their body temperature up. They stay in my room until they are five weeks old. Then they are moved to a playroom where they can have more room to run and play, with a nice warm, comfy place for them to sleep, with a dog bed, blanket, and toys to chew. They also have access to other parts of the house to acclimate them to normal household noises and have social interaction with our family, friends and other dogs, under supervision. They stay here until they go home with their new families.

What type of Dachshunds are available?

We specialize in longhair Dachshunds. We have various colors, including black/tan//cream, chocolate/tan/cream, shaded red/red, shaded cream/cream. Patterns in dapple and piebald. We do have short hair possibilities.

How large do dachshunds get as adults?

Usually eight to thirteen pounds. Although, mini dachshunds came from the standard dachshund, therefore, it is not guaranteed, there is always a chance they could weight more.
